Time for Summer!

It seems like only a few days ago I was remarking to The Man that the weather down here in South Florida has been remarkably cool lately. (We always sit around and chat about the weather.)

I guess I jinxed it. I officially got my first hand burn from my steering wheel yesterday when getting in the car at 3:00 in the afternoon. It's official, South Florida summer is here.

Soon (omgosh in just ONE month) the munchkins will be out of school and The Man and I will officially lose our minds. It will be so hot outside that they'll beg us not to force them out to play and I'll spend the majority of my days saying things like "Stop hitting your sister!" and "What is this wet spot on the floor?"

There are some wonderful things about South Florida in the summer, though. The roads are much less crowded as anyone not native to the area has already burst into flames gone back to northern homes. Getting a tan is easy, it only takes one minute outside without sunscreen. Go two minutes for that lovely lobster look.

This summer we'll slather on our SPF 50 and head to the beach, go watch the safari animals at Lion Country Safari lounge about in the sun, play with robots at our local science museum, and maybe even brave the lines at one of Florida's big theme parks (I'm pushing for Sea World).

What will you be doing this summer?

Heading south, of course! We'll be taking one trip with my mother and step-father to Mississippi and possibly hit New Orleans for a day. That's about it. LOL

By the way, you wanted Asian-y? I posted an idea I had after reading your kind comment.

Thanks for surfing by!

Yep, they say we will hit 90 tomorrow. Summer in Florida is in full swing, and the a/c is chugging away. Our plans for the summer look a lot like this, Community Pool, it's free (well if you don't count the freakin HOA dues)okay let's say prepaid, it cools ya off and it comes with built in playmates for the kiddos!

We have family in South Florida (Boca) that we usually visit at Christmas. They come up here to Georgia to visit us in July (although I'm not sure Georgia is any cooler than Florida in July.) It is getting warmer here, though -- 87 degrees today and tomorrow. I say, bring it on -- I love the heat!

Oh, and I don't know what we'll be doing for summer yet because my summer planning meeting is on Monday. I'll get back to ya. :-)
