200th post! Musings about a Mars Bar

So this is my 200th post. I really wanted to do something special for it since it seems like a pretty huge milestone and stuff but I couldn’t think of anything really good to do that wouldn’t take me a few days of preparation. I’m announcing the newest Little Fish tomorrow and this whole 200th post thing was putting me in a sort of blog paralysis.

So here it is, my 200th post. I’ve made it.

For my 200th post I’m treating myself to a Mars bar that I bought in the British section of Publix a few days ago and forgot about. It’s been on the bottom of my purse since then. I’ve wanted to try these Mars bars since I first saw them in the British section among many different types of Earl Grey tea. They’re $1.29 a bar, which is like twice the cost of a boring American candy bar so I just never buy one. That, and I’m sure they’re filled with loads of calories. Not that I can tell because it just says on the wrapper that they contain 1882 kJ of Energy. Which sounds like a good thing to me, actually, because I can always use more energy.

I like that there is a contest on the wrapper that is open to UK residents only and it says

“AND IT HITS THE CROSSBAR, UNLUCKY…
SORRY NO WIN THIS TIME, KEEP PRACTISING”

on the inside of the wrapper. I really have no idea what that means other than I didn’t win… and if I had won I would be sad because I don’t live in the UK. But maybe one of my readers does and I could have sent the wrapper to them and they could have claimed the prize… which appears to be a soccer ball (which I suppose is not called a soccer ball, but a foot ball in the UK). Sort of anti-climactic, actually.

Mars bars taste a lot like Milky Way bars. I prefer Snickers.

And now I have completed my 200th post and my blog paralysis is cured.

Congrats on 200! I was excited when I made it to 10 :) Keep it coming!

I'm with you on the Snickers. You just can't beat it. Have you tried the ones with DARK chocolate?? YUM!

See, that's what I love about the British. Instead of the word "calories" they use "kJ of energy." When we lived over there they considered a "Kit Kat" a "biscuit" that you could enjoy with tea. The way you look at things. Really, it makes all the difference. :)

Congratulations on your 200th post! That's a huge milestone!
