It was a Swingin Good Time!

So the other night The Man was out and I decided to do a little cleaning. Typically when I clean I rock out to my iPod but I was getting a little bored with the 30 gigs of music on there so I figured I'd try something different.

I flipped to the Music Choice section of our Comcastic service. You know, that section of about 40 channels that you hastily scroll through when searching for something to watch. Yep, I went there... and I discovered the perfect music to clean to.

It was the Big Band/Swing section.

Don't laugh, I'm completely serious!

Up until the other night my experience with Big Band music was limited to the Glen Miller that my grandfather had played back when I was 7. I really don't know what made me decide to turn that station on but I'm so glad I did. I have never felt so happy or energized while cleaning up my kitchen. I was introduced to Cab Calloway, Benny Goodman, Pete Fountain, Duke Ellington, and the fun pair of Gene Krupa and Anita O'Day.

It's practically impossible to not MOVE when this music is on. When I strolled past the mirror I half expected to find myself in a cherry print apron with finger waves in my hair. I could feel the vintage housewife in me oozing to the surface and I liked her! I could imagine myself tidying up in anticipation of an evening of having friends over for martinis.

If this keeps up I'll be wearing heels and pearls and baking apple pies all day.

Ok pies are good... Heels are dangerous around here! Big Band Music is awesome. Sometimes I'll just put it on so no one will come in the room and bother me.

I'll listen to anything if it will get me energized to clean.
