I've been feeling a little less bloggy lately. I can tell you exactly why, too. Because I've been obsessed with the Twilight series. And by obsessed I mean can't put it down, ignore my children, read it at stoplights obsessed. There hasn't been anything this powerful since I discovered Philippa Gregory's Tudor period novels.
And I sort of knew this would happen, actually. which is why I've been avoiding them. I've read all sort of bloggers talking about how great they are and all that but I avoided them. Because I surely don't have time to get myself all sucked into another series of novels.
However, for some reason I caved. It was election day. I don't know what came over me but there I stood in the Super Walmart and the movie edition paperback seemed so harmless. I added it to my cart.
And now, exactly 10 days later I'm halfway through the third book in the series and I can't stop. When I finish one I get a panicky feeling inside until I can start the next one. What am I going to do when it's over?
So I'm sorry, I've been reading instead of blogging. I can't help myself. I'm sure you understand.

WHICH IS EXACTLY why I haven't touched it yet.
Dammit, that's it! Now I HAVE to read this book. I've been trying so hard not to. But if Spaz is reading it...
OH my my my. I totally understand. What you do when you finish book four is you get online and read the partial copy she posted of Midnight Sun. ALL IN EDWARDS HEAD!! THE LOVE...
Hope you enjoy them!
We ALL understand. I just hope the movie is as good as the book. The previews look promising.
Aren't they addictive? I resisted until about a month ago and then I read all four in about 36 hours. My kids almost didn't have Halloween costumes because I couldn't put them down.
When it's over, you're going to mourn. Then you're going to have a really hard time deciding what book to read next, because none of them are Twilight related, therefore they all suck.
Totally understand. And...I told you so.
The other commenter is so right, btw. You will be in mourning for a good two weeks once you finish. Don't forget after the fourth book you can read the first several "draft" chapters of Midnight Sun on the Stephenie Meyer website. (It's Twilight from Edward's perspective -- and it's even better than Twilight.)
I bought the first book for my daughter who had tired of her Harry Potter (read all 7 books 5 times in 3 months). After reading the first, she has used her own money to buy the hard cover set, and has read them at least 5 times each. She tells me also on the Stephenie Meyer website they have "rough draft" chapters that were not included in the original books.
I am such a novice, I have only read the books one time through. But we do have tickets to the first showing of the movie (12:01 AM on Friday).
If you like all things twilight, check out all the Twilight items at etsy.com and the t-shirts on Amazon and Cafe press(I am partial to the one that says "yes I am a mom, yes I've read Twilight, Yes I love Edward. (don't tell my husband!)
